X Ads Whitelisting

Overview:

X(Twitter) requires advertisers to follow the 'Financial products and services' policy while advertising crypto and web3 projects. The policy requirements vary across categories (NFTs, DeFi, Blockchain gaming etc) and across geographies.

With the Ads Pre-authorization Process, an advertiser can navigate this policy and work with the X team to whitelisttheir account to advertise crypto related products in eligible geographies. This unbans your account and enables crypto ads on X.

Crypto / DeFi projects

Description: Any projects related to decentralized crypto borrowing / lending, DeFi insurance, DApps, and Decentralized exchanges or crypto exchanges, wallets, credit or debit cards, fall under this category.

We have divided advertising targets (countries) into two buckets basis strictness to whitelist:

Bucket 1: No need for country specific licenses

Aruba, The Bahamas, Barbados, Bermuda, Bosnia and Herzegovina, Brazil, Chile, Colombia, Costa Rica, Curacao, Dominican Republic, Ecuador, Egypt, El Salvador, Ghana, Guatemala, Honduras, India, Ireland, Italy Jamaica, Kenya, Kuwait, Macedonia, Mexico, Morocco, Nicaragua, Nigeria, Oman, Pakistan, Panama, Paraguay, Peru, Saudi Arabia, Serbia, South Africa, Tanzania, Trinidad & Tobago, Turkey, Uganda, Uruguay,Venezuela, Vietnam, and Zambia.

In order to get whitelisted in these geographies, you need to furnish:

1. A business incorporation verification document which shows that the business is atleast 2 years old

2. Signed T&C

Bucket 2: Require country specific licenses

USA, Canada, UK, France, Spain, Australia, Austria, Croatia, Denmark, Finland, Germany, Indonesia, Israel, Malyasia, Netherlands, New Zealand, Norway, Philippines, Poland, Portugal, Romania, South Korea, Thailand

In order to get whitelisted in these geographies, you would need to furnish:

1. A business incorporation verification document which shows that the business is atleast 2 years old

2. Country specific licenses,

   1. USA - Any one of the following: Secutiries & exchange comission/ National Future Association/ Financial Crimes Enforcement Network(FinCen)

   2. UK - Copy or ss or website URL of your registration with the financial conduct authority

   3. Canada - Copy or website URL of your registration as Money service business with Financial Transactions & Report Analysis Centre of Canada(FINTRAC)

   4. Spain - Crypto branding / informational campaigns. Promotion of any other cryptocurrency products or services is prohibited. Copy of your business license.

   5. Germany - Please provide one of the following documents: a copy of EU Passport for Financial Services approval certificate for Germany/a license from BaFIN Authorisation

   6. India - You can only promote the following product and service types when targeting India: Cryptocurrency Exchange, hot wallets, stablecoin issuers, and crypto credit / debit cards.

   7. Australia - Please provide a copy of one of the following documents: Australian Financial Services License/ AUSTRAC registration and enrollment document/ Purchase Payment Facility License/ Authorized Deposit-Taking License/ Restricted Authorized Deposit-Taking License or A letter from the regulator confirming this exemption status.

   8. Netherlands - Copy of license from Dutch National Bank (DNB)

NFT projects

Description: Any project / business/ products related to NFTs and NFT marketplaces. This also includes products or services that facilitate the use of NFTs (e.g. minting, management tools, engines)

Provided that there is no overlap with DeFi and Blockchain games categories, we would be able to get you whitelisted to run NFT ads without country level limitations. For this, you would need to furnish:

1. A business incorporation verification document which shows that the business is atleast 2 years old

Blockchain games

Description: Blockchain games refer to games involving NFT or cryptocurrency tokens where such can be won or earned.

X allows advertisement for Blockchain games only in the following countries:

USA, Canada, Brazil, Thailand, Germany, UK

Twitter classifies Blockchain games into two major categories:

Skill based games:

In order to get whitelisted, you need to furnish:

1. A business incorporation verification document which shows that the business is atleast 2 years old

Luck based games:

In order to get whitelisted, you would need to furnish:

1. A business incorporation verification document which shows that the business is atleast 2 years old

2. Country specific licenses, eg:

   1. UK - Licence from the UK Gambling Commission

   2. Thailand - licence/authorization from the competent authority under the gambling act
